AnthonyPf
This is looking awesome! since there is little water, how are you levels? do they fluctuate much? Because of the lid on the tank I have very little fluctuation in water levels. My schedule is: Tuesday - Fresh water top off and change 2 cups of salt water Friday - Fresh water top off, clean sponge filter & change 2 cups of salt water That is it. Other than feeding the corals twice a week there is nothing else I have to do to the tank. Link to comment
AnthonyPf
So it has been a while since my last post. I added a diffuser to the lamp and it has made a world of difference. The corals have all responded wonderfully, my Blasto put out a new head and for the first time my Brain coral is starting to spread. Below is a couple of new shots from today: Top shot with no lights on Blasto with new head FTS 9.13.12 Link to comment
dcamo001
how did you add a diffuser to your lamp? I think I'm dealing with similar problems (low growth), I'd like to try the same thing Link to comment
AnthonyPf
I actually used a CD case I had a lot of trouble finding something that would work. I was thinking of cutting one of the difussers they use for office lighting. The trouble is that stuff is a pain to cut and does not filter that much light. I found this opaque CD case that happens to be the same diameter as the PAR38 lamp I have. The tank responded overnight! Everything was getting burned out. Here are some pictures: I used foam mounting tape to keep it stuck on to the lamp From the front view you can not even tell that there is anything on the lamp. It looks really clean and professional.
