I have long admired the art of saltwater reefing, but have long relented due to my schedule and the costs involved. This is my first attempt at at a salt water tank. Wish Me Luck. Input greatly appreciated!post-79039-0-04803100-1364526663_thumb.jpg

I think you wil find with that much rock you will run out of room very quickly once you started adding corals. It looks great now but there really isn't much empty space. I also think your stand is great.

Adding a few pictures of where I am this morning. Tank is doing ok., Just added an Acan and a Clown Fish so now I have a Firefish, a Royal Gamma Clown fish and a Orange Stripped Prawn Goby. Bla blaa blaa. I am though excited about this Maast frag swap i will be attending in 2 weeks. I have to hold out on buying anything new these next 2 weeks and save up some cast. Ive already blown $1000 just getting this tank set up and i still have more to buy. Fun Fun! Comments appreciated thanks. :D

No tank has been up 2 months. Had good flow and did 10% water changes daily and nitrate scrubber pads plus 40 lbs of live Fiji rock!

Ive packed quite a bit in this little tank based on what ive been picking and choosing from other members builds. I picked what I thought was the best complements to my particular tank. Let ME know what you think.

Equipment:

1 Aqueon 15 Gallon Column Tank 13x13x20

20 lbs of live sand

40 lbs of Fiji Live rock

2 Koralia 425 Power heads

1 Ocean Duo Wave maker

1 Fluval E-series 50 watt heater

1 Fluval Surface skimmer (modded into AquaClear 70 U tube)

Aquaclear 70 (refugium mod )

1 Oceanic Nano Protein Skimmer

Whisper 10 air pump for Skimmer

2 Ecoexotic Panorama Pros 12" led (fits like a glove waiting on 3rd led strip)

1 dual fan 12v hard disk cooling fan (yet to install)

So far I think I got the essentials and probably some unnecessary but damage is done already!

now I got to stalk the tank. Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I also worry as the previous person said that you have 4 fish which won't have much area to swim once you buy the corals you'll be adding and could you define the Bla blaa blaa after you named the 4 fish? We can all empathize with your excitement, it is thrilling, and your lighting is really sweet- we all do worry about too much at once though. Why not see what happens with the parameters before you buy corals in 2 wks? We all want to see you succeed. I'll be checking out your thread, I've not seen much on the Evo 15.

The panorama lights fit with no hard ware I slightly bent the mounting tabs upward and they just pressure fit under the stock hood. I was found to do a custom setup from rapid led but this was simple neat and has a dimmer controller integration that will be purchased later. Everything is on timers that alternate between my lights and my aqua clear 70 fuge lighting to keep my ph swings normalized

Finally got my skimmer tuned in so that I can run a drip line down to a larger bottle to collect the skim. Thought I would ad some pictures of my filtration set up under the hood. I'll throw up some pics of my Fuge AC 70 surface skimmer mod. Thanks for the views and the comments. I've been planning this little tank for a while now. Let me know what u think.

AC70 with surface skimmer and in tank siphon. Took a fluval surface skimmer apart and kept the best parts and threw away the rest. Hacked up the AC70 U tube and voila!

Great looking tank but honestly I'd cut down at least 15-20lbs of rock, with all that rock and sand you prolly have less than 10 gallons of water in there.

Seems like he/she has been rocking a pretty banging tank for a year now... Killer growth and progress....IMHO I wouldn't change anything if it is working this well..... Nice tank!
