evanski
After seeing Gena's tank, wife/Deputy Reef Keeper greenlighted a larger tank. Looking for a clean, sleek look with minimal upkeep as we travel quite a bit for work. This is going to be an interesting departure from my last two tanks (Fluval Spec 2G and 1G Beta Cube)...and I am looking forward to being able to have fish and a larger invert population. Notional build is below...please tell me what you think! evanski
It's official now...you can't change your mind. I know, right? The difference between the IM 8 and the IM 16 is that Laura is moving her sewing station downstairs when the kids move into their new place! Link to comment

evanski
Nice equipment list, youll love the vortech. What's the livestock list? Ahhhh...the $64,000 question. Still unsure, but here are a few thoughts. I do not want just a larger version of the 2G Spec, although I imagine there will be some overlap. Thinking about substantial LPS, perhaps including a try with a hardy chalice or two. Love to get some euphyllia, favia, blastos, etc. Fish might include a snowflake clown, purple firefish, and a goby or two. Any help here greatly appreciated! Some SPS as well...plates will have space to grow out, and might try some hardier acros like Green Slimer and Birdsnest. Minimal rockwork, and bare bottom. Link to comment
evanski
Quick update... Ordered the Nanobox Duo from Dave. Very cool and professional bloke. Very much looking forward to the light. Black/Black with gooseneck and the new Bluefish controller. On other news, brought cabinets in to the office and bought a pre-fabbed marble slab. Should have it installed in a few weeks, then going wet with the tank, THINKING about the new IM Ghost skimmer, but waiting to hear more about performance issues before I pull the trigger. Lots of folks have them, but none are broken in yet as far as I can tell. Most worries about the noise factor, which I hear is quite high right now. Will see. Link to comment

It was just a play on words. wow, very impressed...this will be an awesome build. Thanks, man! Means a lot coming from you. Your tanks are looking banging. So glad you stuck it out through the worst of it and that they are bouncing back. When your corals grow in, TOTM is gonna happen. Link to comment

Very slick with the gooseneck. What you gonna stock? Mix reef? SPS dominated? joining the rock anemones revolution? Yeah...the light seems like it was built for the tank. I am quite excited about it...but now I have to get going on the cabinets so I can get water in the thing. I am thinking about a widely mixed tank. LOTS of LPS with just a smattering of SPS...not looking to have automated dosers etc. Like to have some nice, lush mushrooms and bright colorful zoanthids. I am thinking three discrete islands and no sand. Your input would be welcome. Not looking for the same boring things I see everywhere else. Oh, yes...and a few RFAs and a clam or two.
